STUDIO ETIQUETTE

Studio etiquette is in place as a gesture of respect to our fellow yogis.  Your safety and comfort is our priority.

  • Please arrive 15 minutes before class so there is sufficient time to set up and settled in before class starts. Latecomers will not be permitted into the practice space. We highly recommend pre-registering online.

  • Upon your arrival please give the desk staff your name to register or check in.

  • Yoga is best practised on an empty stomach. We recommend leaving at least one hour between a light meal and your class.

  • Please stay home if you are suffering from a cold or flu.

  • Due to potential sensitivities to our fellow yogis, we ask that students refrain from coming to class wearing perfume, cologne, or other strong scents. Please also exercise personal hygiene. Showers are provided on the premises.

  • Cubbies are available at the front entrance. Please leave bags, purses, keys etc. our of the practice room so we can have a clear and tidy space in which to practice. This is to ensure a positive and safe experience for your fellow practitioners as well as the safety for your instructors.  Bags can be a tripping hazard.

  • Please ensure you're wearing clean attire to class and conscious of hygiene. Shirts/tank tops are required for all practitioners.

  • When class is in progress, please keep voices low in the reception area.

  • While in the studio space, please endeavour to preserve the calm atmosphere for your fellow practitioners. This includes refraining from loud speech or other disruptive behaviour.

  • No cell phones in the practice room.

  • If you are bringing valuables (jewelry, glasses) into the practice room, please place them on a block against the wall. We are not responsible for any items damaged or lost in the studio.

  • Only closed, seal-able containers of water are permitted in the practice space. No coffee/tea cups or open containers please.

  • We prefer if you do not leave early while class is in progress. However, if you need to leave early, please notify the teacher before class begins and please allow yourself time for savasana (final relaxation) and ensure you exit before the class begins their savasana to avoid being disruptive to others.

  • We're here to support your yoga practice in any way we can! If you have any questions, comments or feedback please do not hesitate to connect with your teacher or Yoga Life staff or email us at info@stouffvilleyogalife.com
