Stouffville Yoga Life offers the Modern Yoga Method 200-hour ONLINE Yoga Teacher Certification recognized by the Canadian Yoga Alliance. Our program is suitable for yoga students who wish to become yoga teachers, or for those who simply want to deepen their personal practice.

Course Description
Module I - September 19, 2020 - November 8, 2020
Module II - January 2, 2021 - February 7, 2021
Registration and deposit due before June 30, 2020
With a strong focus on Functional Anatomy, Physiology and common pathologies in Module I, these studies equip teacher trainees with the knowledge and skill to design an intelligent and safe sequence for their future students. This will inevitably provide new teachers with the tools to give appropriate modifications to those who suffer from such injuries including, but not limited to: frozen shoulder, knee problems and low-back issues.
Module II concentrates on taking the knowledge and skills learned from Module I into practice. Each weekend of Module II will involve a minimum of 4 hours of practical work and demonstration where we encourage creativity in designing yoga-inspired functional movement-based classes to be taught after completion of the program.
In addition to the two modules, teacher trainees will be offered the unique opportunity to attend specialized workshops facilitated by experts in the yoga community. Topics of discussion will include, but are not limited to: setting boundaries, working delicately with trauma, projecting voice, meditation and yoga philosophies. These workshops ensure our teacher trainees receive a well-rounded education in the large expanse that encompasses the yoga practice.
We pride ourselves in providing teacher training education that far exceeds the typical requirements set out in most programs. As educators we strive to be on the cutting edge in new developments of yoga teachings and philosophies, and recognize that these developments are continually changing. Our new graduates leave our program with a deeper understanding of how their approach can impact those they teach.
